Đề kiểm tra cuối học kỳ 1 môn Tiếng Anh Lớp 7 - Năm học 2022-2023 - Trường THCS Đức Trí
V. Reading Comprehension.
A.1. Read the following passage and decide if the statements from 25 to 28 are True or False : (1pt)
According to a survey conducted among teens from 13 to 17 years old, texting is their favourite method of
communication. More than one-third of the teenagers said that they preferred messaging to face-to-face
communication. There is no definitive reason for this preference, but many experts believe that teens like
texting because it's instant and more convenient. You can send a message whenever you want and don't
have to wait for the other person to pick up the phone. With text messages, you have enough time to think
of a response and pick your words carefully. A quick answer is also not expected when you're
communicating by texting. Sharing funny emoticons and pictures is another reason teens nowadays are
choosing texts over phone calls.
25. Over one-third of people aged from 13 to 17 claimed that they liked messaging more than face-to-
face communication.
26. It is believed that teens don't enjoy texting due to its inconvenience.
27. You can send a message anytime and needn't wait for the receiver to pick up the phone.
28. You can expect to have a quick answer when you're texting on the phone.
